2021-22 Hockey Cards Overview
With the world dealing with both the pandemic and global supply chain issues, the 2021-22 hockey card season is not business as usual. Like other sports in the hobby, products are seeing significant delays with many coming out months after their typical windows. Even 2021-22 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey wasn’t immune, arriving in the new year rather than its traditional early November slot. Even once the 2022-23 season started, several sets were still upcoming.
Upper Deck still has the NHL exclusive. They also have deals with both the AHL and CHL covering the major junior leagues as well.
Topps has a deal for stickers as well as their SKATE digital hockey card app.
Although they don’t have a license at the league level, Leaf continues to produce hockey products as well with most centering on autographs and memorabilia. This includes sets under both the Leaf and Pro Set names.
