As the 2012 NFL season winds down, Topps is busy preparing the 2013 season.

The company previewed Bowman Football today, showing off new designs and inserts.

Bowman Football gives collectors the first chance to get Rookie Cards made by Topps. Bowman will include up to 110 2013 draftees, as well as die-cuts, mini, mini autographs and Bowman Black Autographs.

Bowman is scheduled to come in early June.

Bowman Football will feature regular Bowman cards as well as Bowman Chrome Autographs. The Bowman Chrome autographs will be on thicker card stock and all rookie autographs will be on-card.

Two of the pictures available are just designs with nondescript players, showing what cards could look like once players are determined.

Each hobby box will contain four Bowman Chrome Autographs, one Bowman Rainbow Foil Relic card, three die cuts and five parallels numbered to 499 or fewer.

The Rookie Chrome Refractor Autographs will feature eight different parallels with orange, Red, Xfractor, Prism, Superfractor and Printing Plates being exclusive to hobby products.

The mini autographs play on the 1952 mini Bowman design, using history once again to excite collectors.

The Bowman Black Autographs will be redemptions. These autographed cards will be on 100-pt., stock and have players in their NFL uniforms from the NFLPA Rookie Premiere.

Topps will use the “ice” type of parallels throughout Bowman that it has utilized throughout some 2012 products. The base set will have Silver Ice, Gridiron Ice (numbered to 50), Red Ice (#’d to 25) and Purple Ice (#’d to 10).

Which 2013 rookies would you like to see in Bowman?

You can let Topps know by following them on Facebook and Twitter and taking part in their “Who’s Next?” campaign to get the best rookies on cards.

The rookie That i would like to see in 2013 Bowman is Jordan Hill, DT Penn State. He is from my hometown and a total class act.

I would love to not see these draft pick cards. No College or NFL jerseys? No Thank You…

I’d much rather see a rookie-focused set like Bowman released later in the year, so it can include rookies who actually made the team (in their NFL uniforms) rather than 60-75 guys who get cut in training camp. If I want to see former college players with no college logos, there’s always Press Pass and SAGE (not knocking those two companies that do great work despite their limitations).

Bowman needs to be better. 2012 Bowman Football was GARBAGE! Just make it like baseball and you’re fine! I hope it comes together well!
