Topps’ Game Time Giveaway site is live.

Collectors of 2012 Topps Football may have gotten several code cards in their packs. Now, it’s time to use them.

The site, which can be found at http://gametime.toppscards.com/ is similar to the digital games Topps did with baseball. Enter the code you found on the back of the Game Time Giveaway card and you can earn different virtual products or cards.

There is a game involved with the tokens collectors earn. Play up to five tokens of the teams you think will score the most points. The 10 highest scores at the end of the week will receive limited edition autographed cards.

The top 10 scorers at the end of the season will win an autographed helmet or football.

I had five code cards on hand. Here is what I got:

Shut out on cards, but we at least we got five teams to play this season!

What have you gotten from the site?

Got on after dinner today and entered about 70 codes total that I had accumulated. 5 cards (all reg version) and bunch of coins. I like that the coins can be used in a weekly contest for prizes, so at least they are not useless like the golden giveaway ones. I miss the trading aspect though, as I had a lot of fun over the last few TOPPS online offerings trading for cards I had wanted.

49 codes, two cards. One was a base Russell Wilson, the other was a gold Justin Blackmon. Does anyone have an idea of what the difficult teams are to get? I’ve got 23 of the teams. First ten people to 32 get an autographed football.

I had several (20-25) and all of mine were tokens except for one card that was of Matthew Stafford! Not a bad player to get. It said the card would be ready to ship at a later date (but I can’t remember when…seems like in less than a month).

I went on this morning to register and the site is ALL MESSED up asking for items where nothing is asked and then unless you drag your mouse over the field you do not know what to enter. How designed this site, the monkey at the Bronx Zoo??? Come on!

I entered 12 codes and unlocked 3 cards, Jim Brown, Matthew Stafford and Jeff Ashlon. Pretty sweet

After opening a case, I received 20 game cards. I got 35 coins and 5 cards. The cards were Jeffery Ashlon, Arian Foster, Lamar Miller, Rob Gronkowski and Terry Bradshaw.

Less than thrilled the way things are going to work.
The coins are single use so that once you play with them that week, they are used and are gone.
So, to play this game correctly you need a ridiculous amount of tokens and then they have to be
the “right” ones. So 5 time 17 = 85 tokens for the privilege of playing.

Now if you are lucky enough to get a good card instead of a game token, like the guy above
who pulled a 1/1, then its not bad at all. Otherwise, you better have the best 5 teams that week
in your possession, play them, and still get the tie breaker correct since I’m willing to bet that
you will have lots of people with “perfect” scores for the week.

Not sure which ones are the short prints, but I can tell you that the Ravens, Bengals, Jaguars
and Dolphins ain’t as I ended up with 4 a piece, and several others with 3.

I do wish the site would update to let everyone know once the 10 people get all 32 tokens.
I’m more than certain that its already happened by now given the quantity of product broken
and the large lots of cards on Ebay.

Interestingly, they have given away the production levels of the product.
    There are 50 1/1 cards at 1:30,000 codes. So 50 x 30000 =1,500,000 codes.
Codes come 1 per 6 packs in hobby version. I don’t know if they did jumbo and if the odds are
the same in retail. Either way, there is a LOT of this stuff.

The cards are 1:14 codes so figure that the regular cards will have a production of about 1000 per
and the gold will have 100 per. Given that a lot of people are not going to redeem many of these
cards, real production will depend on whether or not they print to order, destroy the unredeemed
cards, of give them to QVC or the like to flood the market with the extras as has happened in the
    past.

Does anyone know what a 2012 Topps Game Time Giveaway autographed – Andrew Luck card #/25 is worth?
