Ronald Acuna: Living Up to the Hype – Beckett Pricing Insider
Ronald Acuña Jr. is continuing to have a sensational rookie season. This past week he joined a special group of players. When Acuña hit his 20th Home Run of the season, he joined the likes of Ken Griffey Jr., Mike Trout and Bryce Harper on the small list of players who have hit 20 or more home runs at age 20.
But he didn’t stop there. Acuña continued his tear the next day against the Marlins by mashing a 432-foot HR that actually damaged Marlins Park.
Already with over 1,000 cards in the Beckett database, there is a lot of selection for someone with cards dating back just three years.
While the majority of Acuna’s cards come from either Topps or Panini, one of his earliest cards comes from minor league manufacturer, Choice. He is included in their 2016 Rome Braves Choice team set. While Topps holds an exclusive with Minor League Baseball for national distribution, companies like Choice continue to produce team sets for regional andstadium distribution. Because of this, it can make it hard to find to find this as there are just a handful of available on eBay.
Sold mostly with the entire team set, it’ll put you back around $40. For anyone who is attempting to PC Acuña or just want one of his first cards, this may be one you want to try and grab now while you can still find it.
