One of the most popular products of the football season released today. Panini’s 2012 National Treasures hit the shelves.

Based on football card sales this year, this was probably one of the most anticipated products. National Treasures Rookie Cards are usually among the most sought after cards every year. With the attention and success the elite level rookies received this season, National Treasures is certainly one product to watch.

The value of previous sets show just how much collectors seek these cards.

One of the most collected players from 2011 draft season is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick (check out his OPG here). His National Treasures card came into the 2012 season with a book value of $120.

It now has a book value of $500-$900 – the most valuable Rookie Card from 2011 National Treasures.

This year, collectors will be on the lookout for Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson foremost. Then players such as Trent Richardson, Ryan Tannehill, Doug Martin and Alfred Morris are going to follow suit.

Here are list of some notable cards to hit eBay so far. What do you think of National Treasures this year?

National Treasures has always been my favorite product every year as far as high end goes and this year looks to be the best one yet! Panini listened and put more OnCard autos than ever before and with a $500-$600 a box product, that’s what you want. I’m only going to be able to afford one box this year unfortunetly, I wish I could buy more but I’m so excited to open my box this week! My hands always shake a lot when I open NT but if you are lucky enough to pull a BIG one then that makes the $600 u just spent worth it. Keep up the great work Susan, Chris and everybody else at Beckett!

The 2013 season hasn’t started yet, they haven’t even done the draft! How are they supposed to do 2013 rookies?? And it’s always football season year round!

Not to rain on anyones parade but just watched 4 box break and no real winners. I mean the smal window and Whte jerseys. Booklets look like Playbook and not what you would expect sure if you get lucky but I would say keep your cash put it on a case of other mid range like chrome and you will fare better –.
How long can the these Extremely high priced products continue, It leaves little where else for any card company to go. I feel it weekens the overall products already on the markket and does little to distinguish itself beyond price.
but if you got lottery money what would you buy or better yet what can you take the cash and buy more for your buck —-anybody???
