When Agent Carter arrived on the small screen, it did so without the fanfare many other of comic-based shows had at the time. But the show itself was different. Although it spun out of Captain America, it had its own signature style. Bypassing a full traditional release, 2018 Upper Deck Agent Carter trading cards take a similar approach, going straight to the card maker’s e-Pack platform. It sold out within a couple of days.
The checklist takes a somewhat simple approach, opting for only autographs and sketch cards.
Each 2018 Upper Deck Agent Carter pack came with a single card. These cost $24.99 Boxes have four packs and run $95.99.
The set has 16 different signers spread across four insert sets. Among the available autographs are Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), James D’Arcy (Edwin Jarvis) and Enver Gjokaj (Daniel Sousa).
SSR Files Autographs are the most common, landing 1:1.5 packs. While the regular versions are done in a horizontal format, all 16 cards also have vertical variant versions (1:4 packs).
Griffith Hotel Guest Book Autographs (1:4) offer up a secondary design and theme. These also have dual autograph cards, although they’re scarce with 25 or 10 copies each.
Sketch cards (1:3), all of which come with original art drawn right on the card itself, come from a variety of artists. Mitch Ballard, Clint Langley and Gabe Farber are among those contributing to the set.
Upper Deck e-Pack is a digital platform where collectors open packs through the website. From there, they can hold them in their portfolio, trade with other users, have them shipped or transferred to their COMC account.
Agent Carter had a brief run, going two seasons and a total of 18 episodes. Set post-World War II, the show is a blend of spy action and comedy with ties to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hayley Atwell reprised her Captain America role of Peggy Carter, the show’s titular character. Other leads include James D’Arcy, Enver Gjokaj, Chad Michael Murray and Wynn Everett.
