2018 Topps Wacky Packages Old School 7 heads back to the 1970s, the era when the brand first began. Despite poking fun at the past, it’s distribution is very much on the modern side. It’s a limited release available exclusively on the Topps website as part of their On Demand line.
The checklist has a total of 30 cards, spoofing things like toys, cereal and other consumer products from back in the day. Even Topps’ own cards are made fun of.
The final paintings are by David Gross.
Parallels are available in four levels: Pencil Roughs, Black Ludlow, Red Ludlow and Tan.
2018 Topps Wacky Packages Old School 7 has a couple of configurations. For those looking to simply sample the release, there was one with ten cards from the base set, ten total parallels and one sketch card. It cost $50 on the Topps website.
For those wanting the full set, at least at the base level, there was a premium option as well. It guaranteed all 30 base cards, 30 parallels and three sketch cards for $150. Basically, it tripled everything up, including the price tag.
The original sales window for 2018 Topps Wacky Packages Old School 7 was November 20-27.
