2015 Topps Football Variations Info and Gallery

The 2015 Topps Football variation short prints are going to have you looking. It’s a flagship release. Were you expecting anything different?
The list of variations is big and covers a few different areas. Veterans once again come with alternate photos featuring things like big moments and celebrations. Rookies are, once again, a little tougher to see as they use different images from photo shoots where there isn’t the same variety.
The 2015 Topps Football variations checklist also includes some retired players. These are probably the easiest to find as they replaces a current player on the checklist.
When it comes to searching for veteran variations, the codes in the fine print on the back won’t help. Both end in 866. Rookie variations end in 901.
It’s worth noting that a couple of players have different card numbers for their base cards and variations. Tony Romo is #24 in the main part of the set. His variation is #4. Similarly, Colin Kaepernick is #238 in the base set but his variation is #230. The 49ers quarterback flips with Frank Gore. His base card is #230 but the variation #238. It pairs up nicely with the legend variations but it may cause a little confusion.
Below is an on-going and evolving list of 2015 Topps Football variation short prints. At this point, a handful of rookies have Autograph Variations that are confirmed, but base versions haven’t surfaced yet. We’ve listed those to help you decipher the cards and will add the base variations should they surface.

I just bought 15 “Rack Packs” of Topps Football at Target.
The cards are a little “busy” but strikingly beautiful-and a real change-up from previous Topps products.
The black borders may be “condition sensitive” in the future, so be careful handling them.
I received 540 beautiful Topps cards for $75.00! Makes me sick to think what will happen to the football card industry when Panini adds football to its already growing monopoly.
great looking All Pro cards besides the fact you have Bruce Irvin’s picture on Bobby Wagner’s All Pro card! Will this be corrected?

More likely they don’t have a deal with Montana right now.
I opened a couple of jumbo packs last night, and will finish opening my two jumbo boxes tonight. A couple of things I noticed. The card stock is really flimsy, which is disappointing for a flagship product like this. Second, the card design is a bit busy, and the black borders really tend to darken the cards. Throw in that the photos didn’t seem the sharpest to me, and you have a visual that seems off to me. The throwback designed inserts looked really sharp.
