Attendees of the 49th Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo in Toronto are already buzzing about junior hockey phenom Connor McDavid and Leaf Trading Cards has made him and some of his peers the focal point of their highly-anticipated redemption program, which will be held from May 1 to May 3.

With the release of 2014-15 Leaf In The Game Heroes and Prospects coming just in time for the opening day of the show, those in attendance can bust their boxes of this hits-only release and will receive a special emerald parallel card that is numbered to 10 copies or less.

Collectors can also chose to participate in a different redemption program for a four-card 1990 Leaf Tribute set featuring McDavid along with fellow prospects Dylan Strome, Mathew Barzal and Mitchell Marner. Printed on acetate stock and using an iconic retro design, attendees need to bust one box of either 2014-15 In The Game Ultimate Memorabilia, 2014-15 In The Game Draft Prospects, 2014-15 Leaf Metal Hockey, 2014-15 Leaf Best of Hockey or the new Heroes & Prospects product.

Leaf has also created a bonus draw for any collectors participating in either of these programs as they will earn a chance to win a game-issued McDavid jersey that was intended to be worn in the 2014 CHL Subway Super Series. He was scheduled to play in the event before suffering a hand injury that put him out of action for several weeks.

Finally, Leaf will distribute an Expo Passport card that attendees can obtain by first going to a participating card store and breaking two packs of an In The Game product. They will then bring their wrappers to the show along with a completed form that is found in the Expo program or on the show’s website. Upon paying for admission, they will be given a voucher to take to the Leaf booth to exchange for a limited Jean Beliveau Tribute card.

Collectors should note that these redemption programs will only be available while supplies last.
