2024 SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces XL trading cards are going big — literally. Heading back to the 2016 set by Joe Jusko that brought the line back, cards have now been blown up to twice the size.

Keeping with the premium nature of every Masterpieces set dating back to the early 1990s, there are a variety of inserts and chase elements on the checklist as well.

2024 SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces XL Checklist Overview

The base set highlights characters from across the Marvel Comics Universe as seen through Jusko’s artwork. Of course, there’s the size factor this time around. Rather than the traditional 2.5″ by 3.5″ dimensions, cards have been blown up to 5″ by 7″. A variety of serial-numbered parallels, including one-of-one Printing Plates, are also available.

Canvas High Series cards not only expand the base set but they do so with different card stock. These have a couple of variant versions including borderless Gallery and Red Foil.

What If? cards land one per pack and convert Jusko’s art into comic covers.

As far as other inserts go, Battle Spectrum Gems are similar to Upper Deck’s Precious Metal Gems. These have 99 copies.

Holofoil cards have numbered versions done with Speckle and Kaleidoscope foilboard.

Lenticular Mirage cards, one of the most valuable inserts in the original run of Marvel Masterpieces, appear.

Sketch cards keep with the product’s oversized format, making for larger pieces of original art.
