Five Carnage Books to Pick Up
With the Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage trailer dropping earlier this morning, we wanted to take a look at Five Carnage Books the Pick Up ahead of the movie release. Carnage does have a long history in books. He’s a character that has had more than a few foes. Starting with Spider-Man, obviously, and running the ranks of the Marvel Comics Universe. Here are Five Carnage Books to Pick Up before it’s too late.
Amazing Spider-Man #344
Amazing Spider-Man #344 isn’t a full-blown Carnage book, but it does offer the first look at Cletus Kasady, who later becomes Carnage. It also offers up the first appearance of Cardiac, a doctor who is hell-bent on finding the cure for the sickness that killed his brother. There are 52 copies of this book on the CBCS Pop Report, with 17 total copies in a 9.8, like the one below. This book commonly sells for about $30, but you can expect to pay up for high-grade copies as the release of Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage approaches.

Amazing Spider-Man #361
Nearly 20 books later Amazing Spider-Man #361 readers get the first full appearance of Carnage. Collectors have been hot on this book for a while now. CBCS shows over 600 copies on their Pop Report with 86 copies receiving a 9.8. ASM #361 will regularly snatch $250 to $500 on the secondary market, but high-grade copies can and will go for 5X that. Of course, you can expect to pay a premium for signed copies as well.

Maximum Carnage #1
Extremely tough to find in high-grade, Maximum Carnage #1 was a giveaway included in an Acclaim video game. There are very few copies on the CBCS Pop Report as well, in fact just 12 total. The highest of which is just a 9.4. If you can find it on the secondary market, the price tag may be worth it.

Venom Vs. Carnage #1
Venom vs. Carnage #1 gives readers the first appearance of Pat Mulligan, who later becomes Toxin. That’s all well and good but I don’t think that is exactly going to drive collectors to pick up this book. However, the cover, well, that’s a different story. The cover is what is going to drive this book ahead of the Venom 2 release. Venom vs. Carnage #1 is affordable now, but don’t wait too long to grab a copy.

Carnage: Mind Bomb #1
Finally, we’ll wrap our Five Carnage Books to Pick Up list with the Symbiote’s first solo title. In Carnage: Mind Bomb #1 readers will find part of the origin story of the character. Which may or may not come into play during Venom 2. The red holo-foil cover really sets the tone for this book and adds lots of eye appeal. Low numbers on the CBCS Pop Report let me know that it may be worth a shot for collectors to hold for the release of the film.

As I mentioned before, long history in books. 30 years to be exact. The Five Carnage Books to Pick Up is really just a starting point for new collectors. With that in mind, I would love to know what books you would add to the list in the comments.
