2018-19 National Treasures Luka Doncic Logoman Autograph Tops $3 Million
The 2018-19 Panini National Treasures Luka Doncic Logoman Autograph, the top card in existence for the Dallas Mavericks superstar sold on Thursday night for $3,120,000. It marks the highest price paid for a basketball card in a public sale.
The Doncic Logoman topped PWCC Marketplace’s November Premier Auction and was one of 22 cards to sell for more than $100,000.
“When this card went to the block we purposefully avoided speculation on a price because this was an important moment for the market to decide on the value of Luka’s best trading card,” said Jesse Craig, PWCC Marketplace’s Vice President of Sales.
Graded a BGS 9, it has subgrades of 10 for centering, 9.5 for surface, 9 on edges and 8.5 for corners. The autograph has a grade of 10.
While this is a massive number and a record number for a public sale, the alleged sales history of this card tells a more complicated story. Luka’s Logoman Autograph last changed hands for a reported $4.6 million in March, 2021 in a private sale. That’s a loss of about $1.5 million in less than a two-year span.
The highest price ever for a basketball card was $5.2 million for a BGS 9 2003-04 Exquisite Rookie Parallel LeBron James in an April, 2021 private sale brokered by PWCC.
