2016 Topps Star Wars High Tek Variation Short Prints Gallery
While you’re wrapping your head around all the patterns, the 2016 Topps Star Wars High Tek Variation Short Prints offer a different kind of challenge. On these 15 cards, it’s not the backgrounds that are different, it’s the photo on the front.
Although there are 15 total variation short prints, they only actually cover eight different cards. Some cards have two different versions. For #76, the First Order Stormtrooper, there’s four (representing the different types of troopers in The Force Awakens).
2016 Topps Star Wars High Tek short prints are easy to spot even if you don’t have the images handy. They’re actually numbered differently on the back. Variations have a letter like ‘A’ or ‘B’ added to make them clear.
The short print part comes from their tough insertion rates. One variation is inserted every 25 boxes. That’s just a little bit tougher than 1:2 cases.
All of the 2016 Topps Star Wars High Tek Variation Short Prints come from the second half of the checklist. That means all of them have characters from The Force Awakens.
