Collecting Boba Fett Comics
The first trailer for The Book of Boba Fett has dropped so now it’s time to look at some key Boba Fett comics. Even though Boba Fett comics can be traced back to 1980, we’re going to focus on Modern age books. We’ll explore those Bronze and Copper books closer to the release of the Disney+ series. Now, here are some key books to help you in your Collecting Boba Fett Comics.
Star Wars Tales #7
Published by Dark Horse in March of 2001, Star Wars Tales #7 is the first book on our list. Written by Beau Smith, illustrated by Francisco Ruiz Velasco, this book has a few key first appearances in it. In her first cameo, Boba Fett’s daughter, Ailyn Vel is seen in a hologram. Her mother, Sintas Vel also makes her first appearance as well. This book does have two variants to be aware of. A Newsstand edition as well as a photo variant cover.
Star Wars Omnibus: Boba Fett TPB
This massive 496-page collection of Dark Horse stories about Boba Fett was first published in 2010. Its original retail price was $25, but now first editions of this book regularly fetch north of $100. With that being said, this is the definitive Dark Horse Boba Fett collection. It includes Enemy of the Empire #1-#4, the Overkill one-shot, and Agent of Doom just to name a few.
Star Wars Comic Packs #16
Star Wars Comic Packs #16 is a reprint of Star Wars #81. Collectors had to purchase the two-pack of toys from Hasbro, which contained RA-7 and Boba Fett to obtain the comic. Now, see how many comic collectors also collect toys, that really wasn’t an issue. The real value for collectors finding a set still new in the box, but that can be tricky.
Star Wars: Blood Ties – Boba Fett is Dead #1
Here in the fourth spot on our Collecting Boba Fett Comics list is Star Wars: Blood Ties – Boba Fett Is Dead #1. More specifically, the 2012 exclusive Diamond Retailer Summit edition. The cover features a chalk outline of Fett’s body which was on the original cover.
Star Wars Adventures #9
This IDW release is the newest book on this list. In fact, it was released just a couple of months ago. So, the price isn’t going to set collectors back. However, and this is purely speculation, it is a “first” appearance of Boba Fett, so flippers may see this book as an opportunity as the Disney+ series approaches. The original cover features Mace Windu, but the Devaun Dowdy variant cover is a Fett cover through and through.
