When Upper Deck‘s 2011-12 Exquisite Collection basketball card set arrives this week, it will include plenty of fresh air.

Plenty of fresh air Jordan autographs, actually.

The in-demand autographs of the company’s spokesman, Michael Jordan, will be found seemingly often inside the boxes of the high-end, $500-per-pack product.

How many cards did he sign?

According to the checklist released by the company, Jordan appears on 68 different cards and all but six of them are serial-numbered.

In all, Jordan will appear on at least 895 signed cards — the sum of all numbered cards — in the product along with the Exquisite Dimensions cards that are not signed.

While the full product checklist will appear in the Beckett.com database soon, here’s a list of all Jordan autographs:

Which means that over the long run that the cards #’d 25+ will likely sell for less than the
cost of a pack. Which is good for me since I still need one.

It will take me 3-4 months to save up to buy one pack….. wasn’t there rumors that packs were going to cost $800 each??? Now, Beckett says $500 per pack… which one is going to be the price? I bet that dealers/sellers will have it at somewhat a decent cost when the first come out, but within a week… they will be over $800…. the same manipulating of the Basketball card market like with Fleer Retro….

That is a lot of MJ Autos for one product…. In the long run, it might water down his auto… just like what Panini did with Kobe… you can buy a kobe auto for $100-150, or sometimes under a $100…. I bought an Elite Black Box Kobe /99 auto for $97 including shipping….

I love the designs of the new Exquisite & the idea that they threw UD BLack card designs into the product… two of the most loved UD Products of all time… I wish they threw in a few Chronology cards… but hey, hopefully, they can bring those back when & if they get the NBA license back in the future…. I love Chronology!! good price for a pack & return of value…. Exquisite, you might lose money… unless you get a top rated star!!

I am not buying any exquisite packs…. I will pick up a few cheap singles on the secondary market… sorry, UD.. you will not get my money…

Hahahaha I will only be able to see this
product ripped on YouTube by other people.
Never seen any of this product in person for
    any year.

There is something for everyone in this great hobby. Although most people can not afford to bust a $940 box of 2011-12 Exquisite Basketball (the internet retailers say have sold out at about $940 per box), there are more than enough people to buy the less than 1684 cases of 2011-12 Exquisite Basketball produced.

I predict that less than 20% of the Jordan autographed cards from this product will end up on eBay in then next three months. I have at least 10 customers who buy high end Jordan Autos. One of my customers owns about 150 Jordan Autos. Most of my customers who bust Exquisite will sell and trade to each other and avoid paying eBay/PayPal fees. I also predict that Michael Jordan eBay buyers will focus their attention to the New Exquisite Basketball and selling prices should remain fairly stable.

2008-09 Exquisite Basketball consistently sells on eBay at $1500 and higher and they don’t give you a Jordan Auto in every case. Gregg Kohn, Football and Basketball Product Manager at Upper Deck stated during interviews that each case of 2011-12 Exquisite Basketball will deliver at least one Jordan auto. 95% of the cases will have a Lebron auto. And the third box in the three box case will get you at least one auto of the greatest basketball players of all-time (Magic, Bird, Bill Russell, Dr. J, David Robinson, etc.)

Although the internet retailers say they are sold out, I predict that as the internet retailers again start selling 2011-12 Exquisite Basketball they bought back from secondary sources, box prices will continue to go up.
