A rare 1865 photo of the Brooklyn Atlantics baseball team sold for $92,000 Wednesday night in Biddeford, Maine, after it was reportedly discovered in a photo album at a yard sale.

Auctioned by the Saco River Auction Company, the SGC-authenticated photo shows nine players and a manager for the team, which was established in 1855 as part of the National Association of Baseball Players.

The photograph is one of only two known to exist, according to the Library of Congress, with the second one residing in its collection. As it’s one of the first teams, this is also considered one of the earlier forms of a baseball card as well.

In 2009, a similar find was made when a 72-year-old antiques dealer discovered an 1869 Peck & Snyder Cincinnati Red Stockings card, which was auctioned for $75,285.

I’d never have sold that card for that. The day day has arrived. It must have been a personal gift to an alien from the President or something.
