McFarlane NBA 28 Stephen Curry

By Ryan Cracknell | Hobby Editor

When it comes to basketball right now, everything’s coming up Stephen Curry. It shouldn’t be a surprise then that the McFarlane NBA 28 figures lineup features a new piece of the reigning NBA MVP. He’s one of six players included in the main set.

Like most McFarlane Sports Picks, there is also a handful of chase variants to collect.

Curry is the biggest name in McFarlane NBA 28, but to a lot of collectors, it’s the debuts that have the most appeal. Of the six players, three of them haven’t had McFarlane figures in the past. Headlining that list is Philadelphia 76ers rookie, Jahlil Okafor. The third overall pick is the first player from the 2015 draft class to get a Sports Picks figure.

Other debuts in McFarlane NBA 28 include Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bull and Memphis’ Marc Gasol.

Returning players all have new sculpts to help them stand out from their earlier pieces. Curry debuted in Series 24. This time around he’s posed jumping to drain one of his seemingly guaranteed three-pointers.

Kevin Love gets his second figure. His debut was pack in Series 21. While the sculpt is new, it’s also his first as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It’s a similar situation for LaMarcus Aldridge who makes his figure debut in a San Antonio Spurs uniform.

All of the McFarlane NBA 28 figures have variants except Curry and Gasol. These all come with different color schemes for their uniforms. Of the chase figures, Okafor is the rarest.

McFarlane NBA 28 Variants

  • LaMarcus Aldridge – white home uniform (Gold, 250-500 piecies)
  • Jimmy Butler – white home uniform (Bronze, 1,000-3,000 piecies)
  • Kevin Love – gold home uniform (Silver, 500-1,000 pieces)
  • Jahlil Okafor – red alternate uniform (Premier, 100-250 pieces)

McFarlane NBA 28 figures are scheduled to hit shelves in February.
