Cheap Wax Wednesday Box Breaks: 2023 Topps 206 High Series Baseball
2023 Topps 206 High Series Baseball took on a different format than previous years. The online-exclusive product came in a four-pack box this time around as opposed to the single packs. It was also limited to just Low Series and High Series releases, while in prior years it had been available in five different waves.
Both series for the 2023 set have 150-card checklists.
Just as it was with the original 206 cards, cards have multiple card back designs. Piedmont Back parallels are found once in every pack. The other four main card backs are Polar Bear (1:2 packs), Uzit (1:6 packs), Carolina Brights (1:12 packs), Sweet Caporal (1:25 packs) & Tolstoi (1:48 packs). If that isn’t enough, there are four other parallels for each card. 95 Morton Backs (25 copies), Wood (20 copies), Black Backs (10 copies), Interleague Backs (five copies), and Ty Cobb Back (1/1).
There are also autographed versions for 35 players on the High Series checklist.

Lastly, the Maddux card back. The base card backs are extremely plain.
I have always enjoyed the Topps 206 online-exclusive releases. Sure, they can be pretty repetitive year over year, but I still like the old school look and the mix of current players with legends. I will definitely be on the look out for these to pop up again this year.
Clearly, I beat the odds with this one by pulling the Michael Harris autograph. Being a Red Sox fan, I also loved the rare Sweet Caporal Brayan Bello.
