Preview Gallery: 2011 Elite Extra Edition autos

The arrival of the first Panini America baseball card set under its new deal with the MLB Players Association is just weeks away.
Today, we have for you a few exclusive preview images of autographed prospect cards to be found in 2011 Donruss Elite Extra Edition once the boxes start arriving on Dec 21.
Each 20-pack box will include six autographs. Meanwhile, four Hot Boxes per 20-box case will include 10 autographs. For those not quick enough to do the math, that’s 136 autographs per case.
There will be 150 prospects signing for the product, which will include several new insert lines, including Building Blocks (dual, triple and quad autographs), Best Compared To (a draft pick and a present major-leaguer paired) and Two-sport Stars. The base set will include 150 prospects and 25 present MLB players.
Other items worth noting for the product include 50 on-card autographs and a full array of the familiar diecut cards from the past — Aspirations and Status.
Look for another exclusive gallery — for 2011 Playoff Contenders, which arrives in January — in the next issue of Beckett Baseball.

I’m curious to know what the print runs of these cards will be. Hopefully Panini won’t overdo it.
Panini needs to make up for the Magic Johnson/Jordan Swaggerty Sticker Auto problem and include a Larry Bird Auto on all Archie Bradley cards.

explain to me, yes….Im the slow guy-who cant do math quick enough…..unlike the guys at Beckett who get all the hot chicks !! , how different this edition is of EEE…..from the other years ? What exactly does half an MLB liscense do for these sets ??
and BTW…..the 2007 exchange card numbers are still incorrect for the ‘exchanged’ card numbers (if I need to drag out, again, the cards I received back from Donruss- I can) in the OPG

There will be current MLB players in the product along with the prospects. That can’t happen en masse without an MLBPA license.
if any Panini people are reading these comments (like the one person, whose name escapes me right now)……I believe that serial numbering all autographed cards, , in base sets specifically……is something that should be resumed !!

serial numbering of base set autographed prospects & RC’s…..in EEE and in playoff contenders FB…,..is a good idea ……..to me anyways
why is it ok for super moderators (and obviously thats not you Chris) to pretty much threaten people who use the services of beckett.com (like myself……A LONG TIME SUBSCRIBER to the OPG’s……even through the ‘tough’ times-when these OPG’s were not the easiest to utilize) ??
99 percent sure these are cards that simply have not been numbered yet. (smudged/damaged autos get thrown out)
if panini has a license, why is it that the cards shown above are either minor league uniforms or do not have major league logos on them? shouldn’t they be able to include that? minor league uniforms tend to bring the value down and a lot of collectors wouldn’t accept those as rookie cards…just sayin’ is all
High school unis or airbrushed college/minors are all that can be used. MLB, MiLB, USA, NCAA unis are not allowed as those rights are locked up in other deals.
They’re not RCs anyway because of the type of product, though with some MLB veterans on the checklist (which is what an MLBPA license allows) it may lean more toward a product getting RC tag designations — I’ll leave that one to the price guide crew.
Panini does not have a full license. They have a license with the MLBPA only. This allows them tio use photos of current players as well as their names. However, MLB own the rights to all team logos and trademarks, and Panini does not have a license with them. That is why you don’t see any team names or logos.
