2023 Topps Now CJ Stroud Rookie Campaign looks at some of the key moments from the Offensive Rookie of the Year’s first season in the NFL. While that’s the framework, the likely reason the set was a near-instant sellout on the Topps website was the fact that every box includes a framed autograph numbered to 99 or less.
Stroud has very few certified autograph cards from his first season. That’s because he’s a Fanatics-exclusive athlete and Panini holds the exclusive rights for NFL cards. Topps has created a handful of offerings with the quarterback’s signature but the number of cards out there is far less than many collectors are used to from modern sets.
Every 2023 Topps Now CJ Stroud Rookie Campaign box has three parts.
The first is the autograph. Done on thick stock, all are numbered and done in a gold frame. Base versions have 99 copies with additional Green (/75), Blue (/49), Purple (/25), Red (/10), Orange (/5) and FoilFractor (1/1) parallels.
The set has just five cards, all of which highlight specific moments from Stroud getting drafted through to his ROY win.
The one-per-box autographs carry a similar format with both the gold frames and parallels. Signatures are on-card.
Finally, each Rookie Campaign box has a five card pack. These have five Cracked Ice cards that don’t have frames. Standard Cracked Ice cards are joined by Cerulean Cracked Ice (/24) and Gold Cracked Ice (1/1) versions.
