2023 Topps 206 Baseball is the same but different. First, the same. It brings back the T206-inspired design and image filters for yet another year. If you’ve lost track of the number of times it’s has appeared largely unchanged in the last 20-plus years, you’re probably not alone. But there’s some charm in that for many, offering a shrunken down nostalgic continuity.

Also filed under “the same” is the online-exclusive distribution, which has been the case for annual Topps 206 Baseball sets since 2020.

Parallel backs and autographs are among the other returning elements.

As for different, it’s all in the configuration. Instead of small, single-pack boxes, Topps 206 is growing up. Boxes now come with four packs. Topps also looks to be cutting the number of waves but making those that do make the cut significantly larger.

2023 Topps 206 Baseball Checklist Overview

The first set, Low Series, consists of 150 cards. It’s a mix of veterans, rookies, legends and retired fan favorites. They maintain the dimensions of a traditional tobacco card and the same general T206 design.

Parallels combine to land two per pack. Rather than changes to the front, most of these can be differentiated by the backs.

Lots of players are missing. Because it is “Low Series”, it’s likely there will be a “High Series” at some point.

  1. Robert Midgett 13 July, 2023 at 10:01

I just wanted to know why would they leave out some of the best players in the world out of the low series. I want you to know that this is like taking a kid in a candy store and and telling him or her that they can’t have any candy. I only have to say this! Come on guys, be a little bit more sensitive to our hearts and souls and put some more candy into the boxes of the lower series and make our childish hearts ? happy ?. Thank you and God bless all of us Bobby.
