2022 Academy Award Nominees with Autograph Cards
The 2022 Academy Award nominations are out. While the outcomes may not have major hobby price implications like a Super Bowl or 60 home run season, it does put a spotlight on some of Hollywood’s best. They can also bring to light some largely forgotten autograph cards from the past.
Excluding cut signatures, nine nominated actors and directors currently have at least one certified autograph card. For Dame Judi Dench, who already has one Oscar to her credit, she’s in more than 10 sets. Almost all of these are James Bond-related.
The toughest autographs cards to find of the 2022 Oscar nominees are, arguably, the biggest stars. Director Steven Spielberg signed a very small number of cards for Topps’ Indiana Jones Heritage and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull in 2008.
That same year, Denzel Washington’s signature appeared in Upper Deck Icons Football. His autograph is on a manufactured letter patch, again in microscopic numbers.
Of the four acting categories, all but Best Actress have at least one nominee who has signed. A couple of leading ladies do have memorabilia cards, though. Kristen Stewart, who is up for playing Princess Diana in Spencer, has a Pieceworks costume cards in 2008 Inkworks Twilight. Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), has a couple of Pieceworks cards in Inkworks’ Golden Compass release from 2007.
Here’s a breakdown of all the 2022 Academy Award nominees who have autograph cards as well as what products you can find them in.
