Twins’ Francisco Liriano hurls first no-hitter of 2011

Minnesota Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano no-hit the White Sox Tuesday night in Chicago for the first gem of the season.

Liriano walked six and struck out two in the game, a 1-0 victory. The 6-foot-2 left-hander appears on 1,838 different cards in the Beckett.com database with a total value of $17,262.46 for those not too scarce to price. His average card value is just $9.39.

Overall, Liriano appears on just four Rookie Cards from 2002 when he appeared as a San Francisco Giant. (He was infamously traded along with Boof Bonser and Joe Nathan for A.J. Pierzynski and cash in November 2003.)

Liriano’s most-expensive RC is his 2002 Bowman’s Best card, which is autographed.

It sells for $60 or less. His most-affordable RC is his 2002 Bowman card, above, which can be had for $8 or less.

The Dominican-born pitcher has signed 346 unique cards for manufacturers during his career and has just 310 different memorabiia cards.

As for graded cards, Liriano has had his cardboard slabbed 1,341 times by Beckett Grading Services with just 34 of those cards coming back as BGS 10s. His 2002 Bowman Chrome RC has been graded 141 times with just seven 10s among them.
