Giovani Bernard cards heating up
By Susan Lulgjuraj | Beckett Football Editor
When I asked industry insiders what rookies collectors should watch, a name kept popping up – Giovani Bernard.
The Cincinnati Bengals took him off the board in the second round. He was the first running back picked in the 2013 draft.
In Monday night’s game, Bernard rushed for 38 yards on eight carries with a touchdown. He also had a 27-yard catch for a touchdown.
Two scores later and Bernard’s cards are on fire today. More than 50 autograph Bernard cards popped up on eBay since last night’s 20-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. While many have listed them as BIN on eBay, the traditional auctions are interesting.
A 1-of-1 2013 Topps Platinum Red Refractor is already up to $400 – with two days left. Even cards with that are slightly easier to find are commanding decent money.
A 2013 Panini Elite Red Ink Rookie Inscriptions autograph sold for less than $35 before the start of the season. Now, an auction is up to $48 with a day left. That’s just one example. Bernard’s autographs are up across the board.
So, if you’re a seller, this might be the best time to get your cards on the market.
