While Panini America kicked off the new year with the hobby release of 2014-15 Court Kings, some collectors may be in for a surprise when they see a retail edition that is ready to hit some Walmart shelves in the coming days.

Earlier today, the company posted an extensive look at some of the cards that could be found inside the special 15-card packs and the content is all about this season’s rookie class. Each pack breaks down to 10 Remarkable Rookie base cards, a pair of Sapphire parallels (#’d to 499) and a Rookie Royalty insert along with two Remarkable Rookies hits – one autograph and one memorabilia. The Rookie Royalty cards are particularly since they depict veteran players during their freshman campaigns.

Read on after the jump for a 2014-15 Panini Court Kings gallery.

Interesting! I think Court Kings is the best basketball product so far this year, love the unique artistic look, and great price point. But how can Panini price this in such a way that makes it worth it? If hobby is $65 and soon to be discounted, it can’t be more than $35. Do you agree?

You would think that Panini would be SMART-and price it at a reasonable price-especially if sold in Walmart stores…..but…. this is Panini-the company trying to sell $200.00 boxes of basketball cards at Target-that- by the way-have been collecting dust on the shelves for three months now!
In fact, Target stores around my town-east of Phoenix, have taken the sensors off the boxes…. maybe they want to get rid of this wasted space, called Panini products.
Looking forward to seeing the bottom price line tomorrow!

      Hi Brandon,

I have sent a message over to the folks at Panini and hope to have an answer for you in a few days. Many of their staff will be at the Super Bowl, so your patience is appreciated. Best of luck in your hunt for these cards!
