First Look: 2015 Topps Pro Debut baseball cards
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor
Once again, Topps will let many minor leaguers make their pro debut in Pro Debut
That’s 2015 Topps Pro Debut, the first release of the year for Minor League Baseball — a brand where we get the look and feel of the big leagues with the logos and players still down on the farm.
Set to arrive on May 27, Pro Debut will include two autographs and two Relics as well as a 200-card base set with four parallels per card — Gold, Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Blacks. Also to be found are printing plates.
On the Relic front, new this year will be Pennant Patches manufactured Relics, while game-used Relics are rebranded as Fragments of the Farm. Those cards will have Gold, Red (/5) and 1/1 Black parallels as well as 1/1 printing plates. Returning from past years will be mascot patch manurelics.
Among the standard inserts will be Distinguished Debuts — a 25-card set showing first-year players from last season — as well as Promo Night Uniforms, which will feature photography from the unusual games that often occur in the minors.
Autographed cards will have four parallels per signer — Gold, Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Black — while Dual Affiliation autos will pair on cards with parallels limited to five (Red) and one (Black, printing plates).
A preliminary checklist was not released.
