2015 Panini Ohio State University Base Jim Jackson

By Ryan Cracknell | Hobby Editor

Whether the pride comes from the diploma on your wall or you grew up cheering for the Buckeyes, 2015 Panini Ohio State University trading cards aim to remind fans of the school’s sporting history. They showcase some of the school’s biggest athletic moments, traditions and alumni.

It’s a simple set that’s not big. Rather, it’s somewhat of a niche release with a very targeted audience.

The base set falls into the same territory as Panini’s other college-specific releases. It has 50 cards and covers not only notable Buckeyes players but details on the school, its athletic program and the places where they play. A.J. Hawk, Jim Jackson and D’Angelo Russell are among the players in the set. Base cards have Silver (/99), Gold (/25) and Black (/10) parallels.

Both 24-pack retail and blaster boxes have autograph and memorabilia cards.  Retail boxes have two total while blasters have one. The lineups for both is kept small. Signers on the eight-card Signatures checklist include Russell, Devin Smith and Michael Bennett. The number of memorabilia cards is limited to just five players: Russell, Smith, Carlos Hyde, Brian Hartline, and Bradley Roby.

Honors is the only basic insert set in 2015 Panini Ohio State University. The set notes ten football and basketball players who landed awards while at the school.

All inserts, including hits, have a similar parallel structure as the base set.
