Topps reveals Jose Abreu as one of remaining mystery autograph redemptions

The mystery is no more — and it’s Chicago White Sox slugger Jose Abreu.
Topps revealed the identities of several mystery redemption players on Tuesday, and the powerful Cuban slugger who leads the majors with 12 home runs is among them, appearing on three of the six autographs announced.
But he’s far from the only elite draw here.
In 2014 Topps Series 1, Mystery Redemption No. 1 will be a Hall of Fame Class of 2014 triple autograph of Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and Frank Thomas. Redemption No. 2 in that brand is Abreu.
In 2014 Topps Museum Collection, Mystery Redemption No. 1 is an Albert Pujols 500 Home Run Club autograph, while Abreu appears on Mystery Redemption No. 2.
In 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen, Abreu rounds things out appearing on Mystery Redemption No. 1.

That Abreu photo- the same one used in Bowman this year- is actually airbrushed from this picture of him on the Cuban National team. Topps did a pretty good job doing this, including taking out the background message that is written in a foreign language.
