It’s time for MLB to pass out its awards for the 2020 season.

Throughout this week MLB is announcing the winners for their top awards. On Thursday, it’s the American League and National League Most Valuable Player Awards.

The NL MVP finalists include three big names: Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Manny Machado.

Here’s a look at each player with a spotlight on one of their cards:

Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers

The 2018 AL MVP came over to the Dodgers in a blockbuster deal that also included David Price in early 2020. It clearly didn’t take him a lot to adjust to the league change as he hit .292 with 16 home runs and 47 runs for the Dodgers in 2020.

Betts has over 6,000 cards in the Beckett Online Price Guide. This Red Refractor is serial numbered to 5 and is one of the rarest parallels of Betts’ 2020 Topps Chrome rainbow. It recently sold for $770.

Freddie Freeman, Atlanta Braves

In 2020, Freeman continued to excel for the Braves and helped them get to within a game of the World Series. Freeman hit .341 with 13 home runs and a league-leading 51 runs and 23 doubles.

There are more than 6,800 Freeman cards in the Beckett Online Price Guide. This one-of-one relic comes from 2020 Topps Triple Threads. All three pieces of memorabilia from 2019 MLB All Star festivities in Cleveland where Freeman was selected to be the starting first baseman for the NL squad. It recently sold for over $300.

Manny Machado, San Diego Padres

While it was is partner on the left side of the infield, Fernando Tatis Jr., who was getting all the highlights the first half of the year, Machado was strong throughout the season. He finished the season hitting .304 with 16 home runs and 44 runs.

Machado has almost 8,000 cards in the Beckett Online Price Guide. This card, numbered to 99, is one of the 2020 Topps Allen and Ginter Rip cards. These each contain a mini card inside, giving the owner the option to either just keep the card as is, or they can “rip” it and see what’s inside. This one recently sold for around $80.
