Bauer has it all in his favor. First, he’s smart, insightful, and can prioritize his responsibilities. Next, he’s a leader, an organizer, and a hard worker as well. Thirdly, He runs several Instagram accounts, thinks like a businessman, and has a great time doing all of those things. Finally, HE’S FREAKING 13. This was an absolute must-watch episode for all of those reasons.

Highlights of the episode include Bauer’s introduction to the hobby, oddly enough a school book fair. Him recalling his first blaster from Target. The hilarious reasoning for his break from the hobby between 5th and 7th grade, and of course, his outstanding collection. Catch the full episode of Beckett Live Presents: Hoops Daily News below.

Parting Shots

Having kids as guests on a live show can sometimes be tricky. I’ve done it before and there have been times that getting 30 minutes out of them is a challenge. Bauer, on the other hand, was ready. Pulling back the curtain a bit, we did little prep for the show. Just a short 10-minute conversation to get a feel for each other then we went live. I was impressed by not only his sports knowledge but his enthusiasm for the hobby as well. Whatever “It” is, Bauer has it. I’m looking forward to watching him grow in this space.

In fact, I’m more open to having kids of Bauer’s age in this space than I think I have ever been before. As a hobby, WE NEED KIDS in this space. They have been all but bullied out of collecting while we preach to the world about an inflated market. Something has to give.
