February 14th is a day you either can’t stand or you get so immersed in it that can’t help yourself. I happen to fall in the former category. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun. While boxed chocolates and sweethearts may not move the needle for me, cards will do just fine. So, in an effort to have A Very Beckett Valentine’s, here are five cards to help make that happen.

BGS 8.5 CLEO Jordan Valentines Slam Dunk A Super Day

When these 1989 Cleo Jordan Valentines’s Day Cards come through BGS it always makes me wonder why. Then I remember that they aren’t terribly expensive and Jordan collectors will pay good money for high-grade examples. This Slam Dunk A Super Day example is an 8.5 and has the smallest Pop Report with just 5 copies. A nice way to celebrate today with the Jordan collector in your life.

BGS 9.5 2016-17 Panini Prizm Prizms Blue Wave #23 Denzel Valentine

As one may assume, there is no shortage of Denzel Valentine cards available on the secondary market. While the shooting guard spent the first part of his career in Chicago, he’s now suiting up for Utah. In all fairness, if you were going to pull the trigger on this card, the collector in your life should really be a Valentine collector. If not, the gesture may fall short.

BAS 10 1971 Topps #188 Bobby Valentine RC

If you grew up in the 90s you may remember Bobby Valentine as the Texas Rangers manager. If not, perhaps you remember seeing him in “disguise” in the Mets dugout after he was ejected. Believe it or not, that wasn’t the first time he tried that stunt. Where Bobby Valentine is concerned, there is no hiding it, this BAS-certified auto is a must.

1976 SSPC #342 Ellies Valentine Autograph from the Dr. James Beckett Collection

This card is pretty cool on a couple of different levels. First, Ellis Valentine in Expos uniform is great. However, I’m a sucker for an Expos hat. Even better though is this is from Dr. James Beckett’s collection. As a card collector, that carries a lot of weight.

BGS 9.5 1982 Wrestling All Stars Series B #33 Greg Valentine

The final card on our A Very Beckett Valentine’s list is this BGS 9.5 1982 Wrestling All-Stars Greg “The Hammer” Valentine. These cards are tough in high grades. In fact, only three copies exist in a BGS 9.5 and there are no copies graded higher. Never mind the fact that Greg looks like your high school gym teacher, this card is fantastic.
