The new NBA season has begun, but 2021-22 Panini Chronicles Draft Picks is the only current year product on the market as the hobby continues to roll out the last of the 2020-21 basketball sets. Unable to obtain any Chronicles, I decided for a “retro” box busting of 2020-21 Prizm Draft, which hit shelves around this time last year.

The Mega Boxes, in particular, have held their value and more, typically selling for 1.5X-2X suggested retail price. Here are the highlights from a Target Mega Box containing 12 packs with five cards per pack. On average, collectors can expect two Silver Prizms and 22 exclusive Red Ice Prizms per box, plus a one-card Red Ice Autograph bonus pack.

Red Ice Prizms:

Isaiah Stewart, Vernon Carey Jr., Cole Anthony, Tyrese Maxey, RJ Hampton, Josh Green, Jalen Smith, Cassius Stanley, Xavier Tillman, Tyrese Haliburton, Aaron Nesmith, James Wiseman, Deni Avidja, Jordan Nwora, Payton Pritchard, Udoka Azubuike, Anthony Edwards (#1, #41), Aaron Nesmith (Crusade), Cole Anthony (Crusade), RJ Hampton (Crusade), RJ Hampton (Global Prospects).

A quick distinction – Red Ice Prizms are exclusive to Target Mega Boxes, whereas Pink Ice Parallels are found in Walmart Megas. I received the correct projected number of 22 Red Ice Parallels, with the pair of Anthony Edwards ($6-$15) being the most prominent pulls.

Silver Prizms:

Jahmi’us Ramsey, LaMelo Ball (Global Prospects)

The LaMelo Silver proves to be the most valuable card from the box, trending in the $10-$25 range with Gem Mint graded copies seeing online sales as high as $200.

Red Ice Autographs:

Grant Riller

The bonus pack auto is a letdown – Riller is struggling to hang in the league, currently injured and on a two-way contract with Philadelphia.
