2021 Topps Archives Snapshots Baseball Checklist, Team Set Lists and Details
2021 Topps Archives Snapshots Baseball is an online-exclusive release that digs into the company’s vault in a couple of ways. For starters, there are the photos on the cards themselves. Rather than the usual image providers they often use now, the snaps on these are Topps’ own. That means some are either seldom seen or never before used on cards.
There’s also the checklist itself. Like other sets under the Archives banner, players from the past take a prominent spot. It’s not just Hall of Famers and superstars, either. Second-tier stars not used in a lot of products can also be found here.
Hobby boxes come with 12 cards, one of which is an autograph.
2021 Topps Archives Snapshots Baseball Checklist Overview
The base set is a small one with just 50 cards. That feels even smaller when the multi-generational aspect is also taken into account. Almost half of the players are rookies with vets and retired players making up the balance. There isn’t really a theme as to who’s in there and who’s not.
Black and White parallels are one per box. Other versions include Blue (/50), Negative Inverse (/25), Gold Border (/10) and Black Border (1/1).
The Base Autographs portion of the checklist has just over 30 players. Reflecting the eclectic and somewhat random overall feel of the product, Mike Trout and Juan Soto share the list with the like of Moises Alou, Ron Darling and Kerry Wood. Rookies also figure prominently among the signers.
Autograph parallels come in Negative Inverse (/100), Blue (/50), Black and White Image (/25), Gold Border (/10) and Black Border (1/1).
Tintype Titans (1:2 packs) is the only standard insert set. Select cards also have autographed versions.
Topps 582 Montgomery Club Members got first shot at boxes, which originally cost $25, on September 21. Each member had a limit of five boxes. The general public followed the next day.
