2017 Topps Now Mayweather vs. McGregor Highlights Fight with On-Demand Cards, Autographs
2017 Topps Now Mayweather vs. McGregor is a small set of cards dedicated to the fight and its lead up. It also has some pricey autographs from the fight’s winner, Floyd Mayweather.
The main set has five cards. Each was sold individually on the Topps website for just 24 hours. It started with individual cards of both Mayweather and Conor McGregor posing at the weigh-in as well as one of the two standing face to face.
The weigh-in cards of the individual fighters also came with a bit of an interactive twist. Those who ordered the eventual winner’s card (Mayweather) also got another exclusive card.
Following the fight, two more cards came out, one noting Mayweather’s victory and the other of McGregor standing his own in his pro boxing debut.
Individual cards were $9.99 each with bulk discounts available for five, ten and 20 copies of the same card.
Like virtually all releases under the Topps Now banner, the 2017 Topps Now Mayweather vs. McGregor cards were printed to order. That means only cards that were purchased were printed with no overstock.
Topps did a 20-card set called “The Road to August 26” as part of their separate 2017 Topps On-Demand line. These cards were available only as a set and focused on the pair’s various press conferences and training.
Floyd Mayweather Autographs
Topps also released a special Floyd Mayweather autograph for the set. Available on its own, the base version has 49 copies and carries a $749.99 price tag. Parallels include Purple (/25, $999.99), Red (/10, $1,499.99), Orange (/5, $1,999.99) and Gold (1/1, $4,999.99).
