Discovery Channel is catching on to what thousands of collectors out there already know — it’s a unique, wacky world, and you never what kind of memorabilia you are going to get your hands on.
The cable channel is readying a new television show called All Star Dealers focusing on Grey Flannel Auctions.
The show debuts Jan. 24 at 8 p.m.

Seemingly, the show followed around Grey Flannel’s Richie Russek as he found new items to sell. In one of the preview videos with Dennis Rodman, he gets the former NBA player to talk about pieces that he wants to consign of Rodman’s.
It’s not just sports collectibles either. Russek also has a Rodman’s velvet top hat he wore to the Oscars.
“Sports is more than just what happens on the field, it is rich with emotion and history,” said Nancy Daniels, executive vice president of production and development for Discovery Channel in a press release. “All Star Dealers opens the door into the world of incredible sports memorabilia where every stitch and smudge tells a story, raising the stakes for buyer and seller alike.”
We have all heard stories about dealers getting fabulous items about rare, game-used collectibles. But they have also fallen victim to scams and forgeries. The show is intended to take viewers inside this world where Russek and his family diligently look for authenticate collectibles while weeding out others.

Not just as a Pistons fan, but as a basketball fan, it’s kind of sad to see Rodman letting go of his DPOY award.
