Memory Lane Inc. set to auction six-figure Plank

A PSA 5 Eddie Plank T206 card is among the treasures up for sale in Memory Lane Inc.’s Winter Classics Auction which opens on Saturday.
A lower-grade copy of the card — one of the rarest cards from one of the most widely collected sets of the early 1900s — sold for more than $90,000 in a sale by the Tustin, Calif.-based auction house earlier this year, meaning this one should fetch six-figures easily.
The card is one of many key pre-war releases found in the event.
Also up for grabs in the auction ending on Dec. 17 are a rare Ty Cobb tobacco tin — one of a dozen known tins — a 1902 Sporting Life Cabinets Honus Wagner in PSA 4 grade and a PSA 7 1911 Sporting Life Walter Johnson card.
Also for sale is a an 1869 Peck & Snyder Cincinnati Red Stockings team card graded Authentic by PSA as well as an 1888 N162 Goodwins Champions Cap Anson graded PSA 6, several 1888 N28 Allen & Ginter cards, a pair of PSA 7 1934 Goudey Lou Gehrig cards.
For collectors of a bit newer material, two 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle Rookie Cards, a stash of 1952 Topps cards that includes a PSA 8 Willie Mays, a 1952 Berk Ross Mantle in PSA 8 and a 1959 Fleer Ted Williams graded set.
