First look: 2013-14 Contenders Hockey

The last edition of Contenders Hockey will come out in late March.
Panini America announced 2013-14 Contenders Hockey over the weekend, and showed off one of its final NHL-licensed trading card sets in the last year of its NHL, NHLPA contract.
Contenders will contain 18 packs in every box with five cards in each pack. There will be at least four autographs in every box.
Contenders is known for its Rookie Tickets and Panini will ensure that is in the forefront of the last Contenders release. Up to 125 Rookie Ticket signers will be included with rare photo variations
In addition, an insert set called Rookie Ticket Recall will make an appearance, putting players on the 1998 Contenders Football design.
Other hits include Rookie Ticket Signature Patches numbered to 100 or less and signed in silver or gold paint pens, and autographed patch cards of Trophy Contenders featuring candidates for the postseason awards, and numbered to 100 or less.
Booklets are back with up to eight signatures on one card in 4 vs. 4 Booklets
There will be exclusives available in different countries. Canada will get Global Contenders Autographs as well as Toronto Maple Leafs players on Winter Classic Contenders Autographs. The U.S. will get exclusive Winter Classic Contenders Autographs of Detroit Red Wings players.
