2016-17 Panini Revolution Basketball Parallels and How to Spot Them
By Ryan Cracknell | Hobby Editor
2016-17 Panini Revolution Basketball is a rare modern product that doesn’t autographs and memorabilia cards in every hobby box. It’s also not a product that limits itself largely to color for its parallels.
Revolution is still big on offering different versions of base cards and inserts. They’re just a lot more distinct — you might even say wild. Actually, the 2016-17 Panini Revolution Basketball parallels are totally wild.
They harken back to the late 1990s, an era when many products, especially basketball, took an over-the-top approach to design.
Parallels come in seven distinct levels. Some are numbered, others are not. For the most part, the non-serial numbered cards are the more common ones, but not totally so. Galactic cards are a case hit. And while their production runs haven’t been confirmed, they look to be as tough if not a little tougher than the Futura parallels that are numbered to 25.
While all of the parallel patterns are distinct, Panini has added a further step to help collectors identify 2016-17 Revolution Basketball parallels. Unlike last year, their names are now printed on the back of the card.
2016-17 Panini Revolution Basketball has eight total parallels per box, which works out to one per pack.
Below is a full gallery of the 2016-17 Revolution parallels so you can see exactly what the various patterns look like.
