2015-16 Topps UEFA Champions League Showcase Soccer marks the card maker’s debut with the high-profile European league. It’s also further proof that the sport’s place in the hobby is growing as it joins Topps’ existing portfolio of Premier League and MLS sets and Panini’s soccer products, not to mention sets from other companies like Futera.
Packaged in a mini box format, each 2015-16 Topps UEFA Champions League Showcase Soccer master box promises a pair of autographs. Master boxes consist of two six-pack mini boxes.
Base Set
The main set has 200 cards, putting it on the larger side for the sport. Lionel Messi, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard and Branislav Ivanovic are among the international players included in the product.
Base cards come with several serial-numbered parallels: Green, Gold, Red (/25), Black (/5), Printing Plates and Champions (1/1).
Inserts
Champions Pedigree consists only of players who have club titles. These cards have randomly inserted autographed parallels.
Decorated and Dignified highlights some of the captains from the 2015-16 UEFA tournament. Parallel versions come in Red (/25), Black (/5), Printing Plates and Champions (1/1). Some cards have signed versions as well.
Road to Victory is dedicated to FC Barcelona and their 2014-15 UEFA championship. The insert set includes cards for players and highlights.
On the tougher side is Best of the Best. These inserts combine to land two per hobby case and only big-name players are featured. Besides regular cards, there are Red (/25), Black (/5) and Champions (1/1) versions.
