Justin Herbert’s top Rookie Cards can command thousands of dollars. Just a regular autographed card can sell for at least $300. But the 2020 Offensive Rookie of the Year has plenty of cool cards you can pick up for no more than $100. The 10 inserts below range from just a few dollars to nearly $100. Some have memorabilia swatches, some feature other players, but all are in the reach of pretty much any collector.

2021 Prestige Heroes #4 Justin Herbert

Te comic book-inspired design with an explosive background was a new insert program for 2020 and continued in 2021 Prestige. Herbert was not included in the 2020 set, but neither was any other 2020 rookie. These basic Heroes card is not serially numbered but they do have six parallels: Blue numbered to 299, Green to 99, Gold to 50, Orange to 25, Platinum to 10 and Black 1/1. The regular versions typically sell for around $10.

2020 Donruss Optic The Rookies #3 Justin Herbert

The Rookies insert has been a staple in Donruss Optic since it debuted in football in 2016. It goes back even further in baseball to the 1980s box sets.Panini created a unique Logo for the set to differentiate it from the regular Rated Rookie base RCs. There are 20 cards in the 2020 set, and Herbert’s card is #3 behind Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa, which matches the order in which the quarterbacks were drafted. You can find the Herbert for around $50 with additional Black Pandora and Gold parallels.

2021 Donruss Retro ‘91 #28 Justin Herbert

This is an easy pickup that will take you back 30 years to the 1991 Donruss Baseball design.  ere are 40 cards in the set, and the Herbert can be found for around $5. Five bucks! There is an autograph version numbered to 25 and sells for much more. The Clearly Donruss product—a spinoff of Donruss Football—added parallel treatments to the Retro ’91 cards including Holo Mosaic, Red numbered to 49, Green to 25, Holo Silver to 10, Holo Gold to 5 and one-of-one Holo Platinum.

2021 Panini National Treasures Treasured Moments #12 Justin Herbert

This insert from the new 2021 National Treasures insert celebrates Herbert’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award from the previous year. Expect to pay about $70. There are 30 cards in the set numbered to 99. Parallels include Holo Silver numbered to 25 and one-of-one Platinum. There is also an autographed Holo Gold version numbered to 10.

2020 Panini Illusions Mystique #3 Justin Herbert

This is one of those cards that you have to see in person to appreciate. Scans don’t do it justice. Mystique is a clear acetate stock with a groovy hypnotic design that creates a 3D look. Cards are not numbered, and the Herbert can be picked up for less than $10. There are several parallels indicated by the color of the swirls in the design. Some of the most popular are Sapphire, Pink numbered to 399, Red to 149, Black to 50, Gold to 25, Green to 10 and a Purple 1/1.

2021 Panini National Treasures NFL Gear Trio Materials #13 Joe Burrow/Justin Herbert/Tua Tagovailoa

This is a cool second-year triple jersey card of the top three rookie QBs drafted in 2020—Burrow, Herbert and Tagovailoa. Those three have combined for more than 21,000 passing yards and 140 touchdowns in their first two seasons. The most common version is numbered to 99 and sells for around $80-$100. Holo Silver is numbered to 25 and Holo Gold to 10. Both of those versions feature patches.

2021 Panini Spectra Brilliance Materials #18 Justin Herbert

Brilliance Materials has a cool design with a sunbeam-style design and a memorabilia swatch. Cards are numbered on the back, with the basic version numbered to 99 for around $20. Spectra is one of the most parallel-heavy products on the market, so there are nearly 15 levels here with various print finishes. Some levels have higher-quality patches. Popular parallels are Hyper numbered to 60, Neon Blue to 49, Meta to 25, Neon Splatter to 8, Neon Marble to 4 and one-of-one Gold.

2021 Zenith Team Summit Materials #2 Drew Brees/Justin Herbert/Philip Rivers

This triple-jersey insert features three players from the same franchise against a mountain summit background reminiscent of Mount Rushmore. Herbert joins Chargers QBs Drew Brees and Philip Rivers on this card. The most basic cards are numbered to 149 and sell for around $40. Copper is numbered to 50, Silver to 25, Gold to 10 and Platinum 1/1. The rare parallels feature high-quality patches.

2020 Panini Chronicles Momentum #M3 Justin Herbert

Chronicles issues designs from multiple other brands and several anniversary designs. This card features the 1999 Playoff Momentum design on clear acetate. It’s a great throwback for collectors who were around 20 years ago. It even has the “ROOKIES” designation at the bottom. You can grab this for less than $10.

2021 Absolute Tools of the Trade Five Materials #1 Justin Herbert

Tools of the Trade is a longstanding insert that brings multiple memorabilia swatches including patches, footballs, helmets and shoes. This one has five swatches and is numbered to 60 for around $40. The Prime level is numbered to 49. There is also a Quad version with four swatches, and also has a Prime patch level. This is a great option for a card with several swatches for less than $50.
