Softball fans just might have a reason to track down some of the new Donruss Elite Extra Edition baseball cards when they arrive in hobby shops next week as Texas and USA Softball star Cat Osterman is included.

The Longhorns great is among the handful of non-baseball players included in the prospect-laden set and she has several limited-edition autographed and game-used memorabilia cards in the product. It’s her first widely produced trading cards ever made (though she has USA Softball cards as well as a card found in the Sports Illustrated for Kids magazine).

She will appear on at least five cards, according to our sneak preview, with her most plentiful being her standard autographed card. There were 719 cards produced. Her rarest card will be her Throwback Threads autographed game-used jersey card (above), limited to 50 copies.

For a look at them all, see the slideshow below …

The cropping results in the Collegiate Patches card making it look like she has a lemon growing out of her head.

The picture on the base auto is definitely better.
