One Pack of Retail

While running weekend errands, I made my way to the slightly hidden, yet decently inclusive trading card section at a major retail store. It wasn’t exactly on my list of necessities, but a single $2.99 pack of 2010 Panini Threads Football made its way across the scanner and into my home. It’s not a box or even a blaster, but this is the kind of impulse buy that could create or revive collectors.
Thanks to modern technology, my one-shot retail rip is available right here.
I am a fan of the “pack break” and I think you have a done a nice job decorating your home despite the crack in your wall, it seems like a great place. If I were to offer any constructive critique, it might be to put a feather in your hat. Sorry you did not get an autos or relics…
I think it is better to pay the extra couple bucks and get a hobby pack. But I’ve watched some people get nice hits with retail, I just never have.
I have had a couple retail success stories that keep me coming back for more…I pulled a Ken Griffey Jr. auto redemption card from a pack of 2008 Upper Deck “X” that I purchased at Dollar Tree for $1 (obviously). This was in June or July of 2010…and the redemption expired about 2 weeks from when I pulled it. I have the auto card in my collection now. This weekend I bought another pack of 2008 Upper Deck “X” at Dollar Tree and pulled a Whitey Ford jersey relic card. A month ago I pulled a Jahvid Best 2010 Topps Platinum RC auto. Now, I definitely have my fair share of misses too…
