First Look Gallery: 2009 Donruss Elite Basketball
Panini America officials on Wednesday released preliminary information on what promises to be one of the company’s most popular basketball products of the season: 2009 Donruss Elite.
The brand’s distinguished history in baseball and football combined with what appears to be solid product content for the maiden NBA release should see anxious hoops collectors embrace Elite when it goes live in late November.
According to company officials, every box of 2009 Donruss Elite Basketball will yield two autographs, one memorabilia card and 10 numbered inserts including one die-cut parallel. Every case of the product is guaranteed to deliver an autograph from a list of hoops heavyweights that includes Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Oscar Robertson or 2009 No. 1 overall pick Blake Griffin.
While the popular Passing the Torch Autographs are sure to steal the show here, personally, I’m a huge fan of the cleverly named Arc-Eologists, an insert – featuring autographed versions – that pays homage to the NBA’s top three-point threats.
2009 Donruss Elite Basketball carries a pack SRP of $6 (five-card packs) and will be delivered 20 packs to a box and 12 boxes to a case.
