I’m still not using your website because I can trade for free and inventory for free elsewhere online.

Frankly, until your organization has greater knowledge and resourses than my own data base, I really have no need to use Beckett or their services. However, I would offer a share of my catalog under the right circumstances.

The Price guide is Important along with organize. I have not found a better organize for Hockey as it does not seem to be important enough compared to other sports. I think at $9 a month for a subscription, it would be nice to get a mobile app along with organize and some specials for those who use beckett.com. As for Grading, I would Grade like crazy if only there was some love for the Canadian Market. Very Few Canadian Partners and the Price seems to be a Little Insane compared to US Customers. Would be Nice to have a BGS Office here as Asia just got one and we are a little closer.

I’ve been collecting since 1957. I have been buying Beckett price guides since Baseball Annual Beckett #1 (not in good condition today but I keep it in my library). Beckett.com is the most complete and most timely source of collecting information in the hobby today. Beckett Grading allows collectors to buy with confidence on the internet.

Thanks Beckett for making this a better hobby.

    Hey, Chris
Have you ever done an article about what to do with all the cards that you all ready have a complete set or not enough to even bother trying to complete. So, you have a room with boxes of 5000 cards, that just takes up all the room.l

Ditto Robert’s question. Are there super “common” collectors? I have approximately 15 of those boxes almost completely full, and alphabetized, with more to add. But I love doing it.

    Robert and Greg,
I had the same issue and never did anything about it until I moved across country. That forced me to do something as I just couldn’t justify moving all of those common cards that I really didn’t care about but couldn’t get myself to just toss in the garbage.
    What I did:

    – Donated the junk years to my local Boys and Girls club. They absolutely loved them. All 10-12k of them.
    – Sold some lots on ebay. You’ll make some money but not a ton. Shipping kills you there.
    – Rented a table at my local card show for two days and priced aggressively and was able to move everything I needed to
    – Lastly, I still of course collect and when I rip I usually do one case of new product when it comes out. I now simply keep all of the chrome, inserts, hits, etc for my personal collection and sell all of the paper/base on ebay. I sell them unsorted and include everything from that case that is base. They always move as there are of course a lot of people who are set collectors and those who will take the time that I no longer can afford to put together multiple sets and turn around and sell them for a few bucks more.

Hope that helps a little bit.

    Thanks Jason
I’ve thought about donating some cards I bought at garage sales in the past and of course E Bay was always an option I’ve thought about too.
I’m a vintage set collector of late so I’m one of those people that look for base cards to make sets.
    Thanks again for the ideas.
