2024 Leaf Marilyn Monroe Icons Collection isn’t the first set of trading cards dedicated to the movie superstar. However, to date, it is the most high-end. Mixing base cards with a variety of memorabilia, autographs and more, it’s a release befitting of Hollywood royalty.
Hobby boxes have 17 total cards, one of which highlights memorabilia or cut signatures. Another card has either diamonds or pearls — you know, a girl’s best friend.
The base set explores Monroe’s life and career using Leaf Metal cards. This means chromium stock, a metallic feel, elegant look and colorful parallels.
Memorabilia cards contain swatches of clothing worn by the actress. This includes some with multiple pieces.
Taking the memorabilia concept further is Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, cards with a piece of Monroe’s hair embedded in them.
Cut signatures give collectors a chance at one of the most coveted autographs in entertainment history.
They’re not limited to just single cuts, either. The checklist also has booklets with additional autographs from people connected directly or indirectly to Monroe like Joe DiMaggio and Madonna.
A special Sealed with a Kiss book card pairs Monroe’s signature with a piece of material that has a lipstick blot.
