Topps details 2012 Bowman wrapper redemption
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor
The highly anticipated 2012 Bowman set arrives next week packing Yu Darvish, Bryce Harper, Yoenis Cespedes and more inside its packs.
But what’s outside of the packs — or at least wrapping them — matters, too, as there’s a wrapper redemption for the product this year.
Topps detailed the particulars of the program on Wednesday, and it’s one that has a limited supply available — and a new form of Refractor is included, meaning they could disappear fast.
For each 24 hobby or seven HTA jumbo wrappers sent into Topps, collectors will receive a five-card pack of Blue Wave Refractors — some of which will be signed.
Some of the signers will include Josh Bell, Dante Bichette Jr., Gerrit Cole and Matt Purke — meanwhile there only will be 10,000 packs of the Blue Waves made.
Topps will update the remaining quantity of packs available on a regular basis through its Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Wrappers should be sent to:

I bought a hobby box of 2011 Bowman and kept all the wrappers, waiting for a redemption program. I’m still waiting.
So, if Hobby boxes contain 24 packs and HTA Jumbo boxes contain 12 packs, why does one have to submit 24 hobby wrappers but only 7 jumbo wrappers for a blue wave pack? I’m curious as to why Topps chose that number.
Sounds like they want people to buy more jumbos.
MORE jumbos? Good luck finding any at all these days. I seriously doubt that’s the reason, Chris.
Jumbo box routine is that they get stockpiled but then the prices get so out of hand they become harder to move. Why wouldn’t it be if you get *almost* two redemption packs per compared to the standard boxes?
hobby 24 packs = 240 cards
jumbo 7 packs = 224 cards
that is “just about” even money in Topps eyes
If you submit a case of hobby, you get 12 packs. You would only get 8 packs per case of Jumbo id they did it by the box… so they made it 7. That gets you just over 13 packs per case of Jumbo. They were trying to get you around the same per case.
I will send in my wrappers. Topps still hasnt sent my wrappers from the 2011 wrapper redemption. Oh well, hoping for the best and always expecting the worst when it comes to topps.
I sent my wrappers in 5/11, Friday morning. didn’t get anything in the mail today 5/21, i might have been shut out………………..sucks!
