A game-worn jersey from Michael Jordan’s rookie season and the backboard in play when MJ made the game-winning shot for the Bulls’ sixth NBA title 13 years later highlight Grey Flannel’s Fourth Annual Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Auction slated for Sept. 12.

The two marquee items – an autographed road red jersey from the 1984-85 season and the complete backboard and rim from Game 6 of the 1997-98 NBA Finals against Utah – both carry a reserve price of $25,000.

“This will undoubtedly be the finest and most exciting basketball auction we’ve ever produced,” said Grey Flannel president Richard E. Russek. “The items in this sale are so extraordinary that we aren’t even putting estimates on them. The fans will know the reserve amount on each item, and they will decide what the values should be.”

The auction – which also includes 248 other basketball-related gems – will cap a historic weekend that features Jordan’s induction into the Hall of Fame but also will see the family of hoops legend “Pistol” Pete Maravich receive the jersey he wore while setting the NCAA scoring record in 1970.

Collector David Miller will present the jersey to Jackie and Josh Maravich, the late legend’s widow and son, who will in turn donate the rare relic to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Other landmark items featured in the Grey Flannel auction include:

  • A Dave DeBusschere New York Knicks game-used road jersey from the 1972-73 championship season (reserve: $10,000)
  • A Wilt Chamberlain Western Conference All-Star Game-used uniform (reserve: $25,000)
  • A Luke Jackson Philadelphia 76ers game-used home jersey from the 1970-71 season (reserve: $1,000)
  • Don Buse’s 1972-1973 Indiana Pacers ABA World Championship ring (reserve: $5,000)
  • Bob Pettit Milwaukee Hawks NBA All-Star Game-used and autographed jersey from his rookie season of 1955 (reserve: $20,000)
  • A Lee Davis San Diego Conquistadors game-used home jersey from the 1974-75 season (reserve: $2,500)
  • A Stew Johnson Pittsburgh Condors game-used road uniform from the 1971-72 season (reserve: $2,500)
  • A Nate Thurmond Golden State Warriors game-used and autographed road jersey from the 1967-68 season (reserve: $10,000)
