I feel for you guys who had multiples back when they were cheap. Especially for you who sold some of them. I'm one of those guys who, when I open any new product, I save all rcs and prospect cards. It's always fun when I go back months or years later and find some that have really jumped in price. The Trout was one of those. I don't remember buying Topps Update back then but I guess I bought some of it. Probably a blaster or two.

Jumping Trout

I feel that Brian McCann personally owes me about $350. I traded a Trout US175 for a McCann auto when he was traded to the Yankees (and each were about $35-45 guide value). If he performed as he did in Atlanta, that card would have soared. Instead his value went down almost inversely proportional to Trout's as his value climbed.
I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value. |
