RE: Contemplating making a big purchase(updated with photos pg2)
The T-206 cards are originals, Topps just made a little holder to seal them and insert them into more recent packs of cards (specifically Topps 206 from 2002, 2009, and 2010).

I gave you the way to look them up ... All 180 are listed under the following in the OPG.
1923 Ireland Curtis candy e123
Then search by name

Update .... Oops .... My bad, they're all listed n/a .... Oh well. I have no idea how to value them. I have no clue if they're common, rare, scarce, or what. Condition-wise, they're not to great, but if they're scarce or rare, they might still be very valuable ... Or not. Just because something is old, doesn't mean they're valuable.
Sorry, I tried to help.
I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

If the guy was collecting during that time period, there were a slew of oppurtunistic companies counterfeiting cards. Just saying. Hope for you that it's real. It would be a really amazing find, if so. Good luck, but beware.
Doc,
I was also gonna say watch out for a reprint.

Here's one for you Nolan5000
They all look legit, I showed him which ones were reprints. I'm pretty sure all of these are legit 98% sure.
