Boggs and Gwynn, no doubt belong. In fact, IMO, Gwynn was one of the greatest hitters of all time. Tony's WAR may have diluted in his later years, While Wade's WAR may have benefited by the DH? I don't know because I'm old fashioned and not a sabrmetrics guy.
My case for Mattingly was based on the numbers compared to Trammell. (Disclaimer: no disrespect to Trammell) Based on the lower bar that has been set, if a precedence is made by inducting very very good players during the steroid era then why not Mattingly?
BTW: just for the record, Mattingly also lead the league in doubles 3X.
